Inscription and Marks

Stamped on back of photographic print: ''Library, Colorado Women's College. MFC Dance Library. Bella Lewitzky Dance Company, Supported by Dance Associates Foundation, Inc. 3594 Multiview Drive - Hollywood, CA. 90068.'' Written on back of photographic print: ''pic fold, Bella Lewitzky Dance Co.'' Typed on paper glued to back of photographic print: ''Spaces Between, Choreography by Bella Lewitzky 1974, Music by Cara Bradbury Marcus, Decor by Newell Taylor Reynolds. The choreography for ''Spaces Between'' deals with the special world of the proscenium arena. Its concern lies with the multifacited implications of space as dancers occupy it and the human inferences which are inherent in the special kinetic language. ''...in ''Spaces Between'', she isn't content to merely place a stage under the dancer's feet; she has them dangle from plexiglass geometrics, seemingly walk on air and generally become one with their entire atmosphere. Bodies vibrate like tuning forks to the electronic tapes. Dancers thread their way from one side of the stage to the other and one gets the impression they're watching points on an oscilloscope. Throughout, the choreographer cleverly suggests special infinity... no bottom, no top. Her dancers mirror each other on both sides of a see-through slab. We are privy to the other side of the looking class, another dimension. In a word, it's facinating.'' Ellen Saw, The Evening Bulletin, Philadelphia.'' Written on front of folder: ''Action still, figs. unident, ''Spaces Between'' (B. Lewitzky), n.d., credit: Ellen Shaw.''
