University of Denver(DU) professor and administrator Levette Jay Davidson poses for a portrait in Denver, Colorado. Over the course of his career at DU, Davidson served as head of the English Department (1940-1957), and was the first faculty member elected as president of the University Senate. He taught at the University of Denver until his death in 1957.
