Abstract

Senator Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) delivers a speech to members of the Indiana Republican Editorial Association during their conference at the French Lick Sheraton Hotel in French Lick, Ind. on April 24, 1965. Sen. Dominick discusses the need for Republicans to promote the four principles of the Republican Party, which he says are individualism and support for civil rights, fiscal responsibility, a clear, robust foreign policy and an emphasis on strong state and local governments. Dominick also discusses the concentration of power in the executive branch, the increase of U.S. trade with communist countries while fighting the Vietnam War, and U.S. foreign policy as it relates to Cuba and East Germany. After Dominick's speech, Doyle, the outgoing president of the association introduces the new president, Jim Mitchell of the Marion Chronicle, who gives a short speech.
