Abstract: Alfred Crofts graduated from Wheaton College, the University of Chicago, and Stanford University. He served in Naval Intelligence under General Douglas MacArthur in World War II and traveled extensively in Europe and East Asia. He was a professor of history at the University of Denver. The Collection consists of world maps with stamps from the colonies of the Dutch, German, Italian, French and British Empires together with pages for the Belgian Congo and United States possessions.

Abstract: Reuben Edson Nyswander received his BA and MA degrees from Indiana University and his PhD from Cornell University. He was a professor of physics at Purdue University and then at the University of Denver from 1909 until his death in 1941. He was also Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering and Dean of the School of Science and Engineering at the University of Denver.
