Biography

B'nai B'rith is the oldest and largest of the national Jewish service organizations in the United States. The Charter for the Denver Chapter states that the (Independent Order of B’nai B’rith Charter for a Lodge to be known by the name, style and title of Denver Lodge No. 171 to hold its sessions in the city of Denver, Col. seventh day of April, 1872 (5632)). Through a national effort, the organization raised enough money to open National Jewish Hospital for Consumptives in 1899.

Abstract A purple satin banner with heat-applied white lettering which reads:'' B'NAI B'RITH WOMEN.'' Centered on the banner is a laurel circle around a Menorah, (also heat-applied). Beneath the design are the words: ''DEVORAH CHAPTER DENVER, COLORADO.'' There is a long white synthetic fringe along the scalloped lower edge. Machine-stitched to the sides are two pieces of heavy-duty ribbon. The top edge of banner is rolled around a length of bamboo. Fishing line is fastened to the ends of the bamboo...
