Biography

B'nai B'rith is the oldest and largest of the national Jewish service organizations in the United States. The Charter for the Denver Chapter states that the (Independent Order of B’nai B’rith Charter for a Lodge to be known by the name, style and title of Denver Lodge No. 171 to hold its sessions in the city of Denver, Col. seventh day of April, 1872 (5632)). Through a national effort, the organization raised enough money to open National Jewish Hospital for Consumptives in 1899.

Blumberg held leadership positions with many Jewish community organizations, including Allied Jewish Community Council, B'nai B'rith Lodge #171 in Denver, and the Jewish Youth Council in Denver.
