Biography

The Central Jewish Aid Society of Denver, Colorado, was incorporated in 1923 and became the Jewish Family and Children's Service of Denver in 1954. It became the Jewish Family and Children's Service of Colorado in 1972 and in 1991 became the Jewish Family Service of Colorado.

Abstract Tillye Shulman Levy was one of the Denver Jewish community’s most dedicated and effective volunteers. Born in Central City in 1895, she first became involved in philanthropic charity work as a young woman, after meeting Fannie Lorber, the longtime president of the Denver Sheltering Home for Jewish Children.
