Abstract

Elizabeth Richardson discusses details about the University Park area of Denver, Colorado, and the changes that took place since she moved to the neighborhood in 1963. She talks about the activities, interests, and professions of the neighborhood residents, political issues and zoning disputes, and neighborhood activities. She also discusses the local schools and the voluntary busing program to achieve school desegregation in the 1960s.

Abstract Jeanne Winder, a resident of the University Park area of Denver, Colorado since 1957, talks about changes in the neighborhood. Winder recounts several stories including firefighters who hunted pheasants in the field near the firehouse on E. Yale Avenue and S. Colorado Blvd.; a S.
