Abstract The Central Agency for Jewish Education (CAJE) was established in Denver in 1973. The mission of CAJE is Jewish education and it has created a resource center that holds materials on Jewish issues, life, and culture. The organization also sponsors teacher training and runs seminars and workshops for Jewish schools and educators for the Rocky Mountain Region. CAJE works closely with the Jewish Educators Council. Abstract The Grossman family emigrated to America from the Austro-Hungarian Empire and moved to Denver because of tuberculosis. Abraham Grossman was an active member of the traditional Beth Ha Medrosh Hagodol (BMH) Synagogue and later of the Oheb Zedek Congregation which broke away from BMH in 1911. Abstract East European Jewish immigrant, Adolph Kiesler, became a noted Colorado philanthropist. Born in Rumania in 1880, Kiesler settled in Denver's West Colfax Jewish neighborhood at the turn of the century, when he began as a peddler. He later recalled "I worked for fifteen cents a day at odd jobs, and then I got a job carring coal for seventy-five cents a ton."
