Abstract

Interview with astronomer Jimmy Robinson on his relationship with astronomer Clyde W. Tombaugh, discoverer of the planet Pluto. Robinson talks about working with Tombaugh during the 1950s to set up an observatory near Quito, Ecuador to conduct near Earth satellite observations. Later he discusses working with Tombaugh, Brad Smith and Scott Murrell on planetary observations in Las Cruces, New Mexico during the 1960s.

Interview with Tom Bruce on his relationship with astronomer Clyde W. Tombaugh, discoverer of the planet Pluto. Bruce discusses working for Tombaugh while a student at New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (later New Mexico State University) during the late 1950s through the mid 1960s. Bruce talks about the astronomical observation projects undertaken by Tombaugh and his team at NMSU and the early development of the astronomy department.
