Eva Schumacker reflects on her childhood in rural Colorado on the Western slope and focuses on transportation like wagon, carriages, and trains. Schumacker recalls the first lamp her family owned which was a kerosene lamp. She discusses her family's association with the Roosevelts and meeting Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt. Morgan Smith discusses his family's move from the East Coast to a ranch in Aspen, Colorado. Smith speaks about following rodeos up and down the Western slope as a young adult and his memories of Rifle in the Grand Valley area. Smith also reflects on the changes in Colorado from the 1940s and the growth of small towns and cities in the state.
