Abstract

Description of living at 7616 Bradburn Blvd. -- Rigg House -- England, Harvey & Erma. The historic home c. 1890 was given to Earle Stanley DeSpain and his bride Gertrude Rigg DeSpain. The home where the Awalt's presently live was on the property when the Rigg's purchased the property. Earle DeSpain was the son of Pleasanr DeSpain Jr. born in Harris, Colorado. They have been keepers of the historic home with tales of living there.

Abstract

Bill Christopher came to work for Westminster in the last 1960's. Served as City Manager for 33 years beginning in 1976. As Assistant City Manager in 1977, Bill spoke of growth management, building permits, water, attraction of large corporations, financial planning, legal battles, City Parks, recreation centers, and shopping centers. In 1978 as City Manager, water-Standley Lake, sales tax bonds, 1983 25th Anniversary the City Charter, of 1985 train wreck and Westminster Artists Series.

Abstract John moved to Westminster in the 1930?s. John served on Library Committee in 1944 with Jerry Smith. He served on the Westminster City Council and was Mayor of Westminster from 1944-1946. He became the first paid night patrolman on the Adams County Sheriff?s staff for the Westminster Area. At that time Westminster had no police department and relied on the members of the Sheriffs department that lived in our area. He also served on the Westminster Library Board in 1944. Abstract

Family history of the Pomponio Family given in an interview with Dan Pomponio. Dan Pomponio was born to truck farmers Nicholas and Rose Pomponio. Dan came to Colorado when he was six months old and recalls driving the family's freshly harvested produce, consisting of lettuce, peppers, celery, carrots and other greens to the market on the Platte River near Cherry Creek.
