Hal Benson, a CU graduate, reflects on his childhood in Leadville, Colorado on a homestead and in town. Recalls watching the silver and ore smelters at a mine in Leadville and his connection with Baby Doe Tabor. Benson discusses the railroad industry in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, including railroad accidents. Discusses the influx of Chinese immigrants working for the Public Service Company building power lines in the mountains.

Harvey Butchart presents, in front of over 60 guests, a myriad of photos that he took while exploring various canyons within Grand Canyon National Park. These photos were being donated to the NAU Archives and Special Collections Division. He discusses some of them in great detail, describing their location within the park (mostly that of various canyons) and their significance both to him as a seasoned trekker of the Grand Canyon and to the natural history of the area.

Helen Dice, author, reflects on moving to California to Colorado during the Great Depression and her experiences in Brush Creek, Colorado. Discusses working on a ranch selling dairy products, fruits, eggs, and vegetables and the effects of the depression on the Western Slope and on Dice's family. Dice remembers raising a family in a small town, the town dances, and going to the movies.
