Abstract

Mr. McVoy was born in Florida in 1922. He recounts his experiences growing up in Florida, traveling in the Merchant Marines, living in New York and in Omaha, NE, in the 1950s and 1960s and his involvement with various political organizations.

Mr. Love was born in Omaha in 1921. He recounts his experiences growing up in Omaha, working with the Count Basie Orchestra, directing the Motown Band in Los Angeles and his own band in and around Omaha.
