William (Bill) Russell reminisces about growing up in Colorado and discusses the Denver street car strike around 1918, living at the Argonaut Hotel, development of the city, and the end of World War I. Russell also discusses why he bought the Central City newspaper Weekly Register Call and about his time as Mayor of Central City in Colorado.

Sheldon Peterson discusses his career as a broadcaster and journalist for the Denver Post and KLZ radio, both in Denver as well as his time as a professor at the University of Denver. Peterson reflects on covering the bombing of Pearl Harbor, censorship during World War II, a prison break from the Colorado State Penitentiary in 1948, and President Eisenhower's heart attack. Also discusses changes in reporting and journalism over the years.
