Emmanuel Gallery
Biography
Located at 1201 10th Street, Denver, Colorado on the Auraria Campus. Originally built in 1876 and consecrated as Emanuel Episcopalian Church in September 1877. Congregation Shearith Israel moved into the building in 1903. Shearith Israel was informally known as the Tenth Street Shul. After the congregation was disbanded in 1958 the building was turned into an artist's studio. In 1969, the building was approved for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was incorporated into the Auraria campus in 1973 and became the Emmanuel Gallery. __ __ __Shearith Israel (Jeanne E.
