Collection contains burial records from Jewish cemeteries in Colorado. The Old Capitol Hill Cemetery, Rose Hill Cemetery, Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Golden Hill Cemetery, and Fairmount Cemetery from 1871 through 1921 are including in the collection. Records include (if known) names, place of birth, birthdate, age, marital status, cause of death, and date of death.

Abstract

Moritz Goldstein (1861-1906) was born in Hungary. After moving to Denver, Colorado, Goldstein worked as a peddler until his death by pulmonary tuberculosis which he contracted in New York during the early 1890s.

Rose Stuhlbarg details Jewish life on the West Side of Denver, Colo. She also talks about her parents who emigrated from Russia. Her father practiced folk-medicine and her mother was a midwife. She mentions the Yiddish theater in Denver. She discusses her life after her first husband died, and the Depression years in Denver. Her first husband was murdered while on the Denver Police Force in 1919.
