Harris (Hirsch) Family
Biography
Hirsch and Hannah Levi Hirsch had six sons born in Fordon, Posen (Poland). Their sons Julius (1848-1912), Louis (1852-1912), Isador (1854- ?), Jacob (1855-1948), Solomon (1857-1954), Eli (1859-1930), changed their last name to Harris. The brothers emigrated to the United States, settling in New Jersey. Late in the 1870s, Sol, Eli, and Isadore went west and received land grants. They opened a dry goods store in Virginia City (Tincup), Colorado called the "Harris Bros. Beehive." Sol and Eli came back east and opened the Harris Bros. Beehive Dry Goods Store in Bloomfield, NJ. The family lost touch with Isadore Harris.

The brothers were the children Hirsch and Hannah Levi Hirsch and were born in Fordon, Posen (Poland). Eli and Solomon went to Virginia City (Tin Cup), Colorado and began the Harris Bros. Beehive dry goods store.
