Biography

Hirsch and Hannah Levi Hirsch had six sons born in Fordon, Posen (Poland). Their sons Julius (1848-1912), Louis (1852-1912), Isador (1854- ?), Jacob (1855-1948), Solomon (1857-1954), Eli (1859-1930), changed their last name to Harris. The brothers emigrated to the United States, settling in New Jersey. Late in the 1870s, Sol, Eli, and Isadore went west and received land grants. They opened a dry goods store in Virginia City (Tincup), Colorado called the "Harris Bros. Beehive." Sol and Eli came back east and opened the Harris Bros. Beehive Dry Goods Store in Bloomfield, NJ. The family lost touch with Isadore Harris.

Abstract Solomon Hirsch and Hannah Levi Hirsch had six sons who immigrated to the United States and changed their last name to Harris. They were born in Fordom, Posen (Poland) and settled in New Jersey. Solomon Harris and his brother Eli went out west and settled in Virginia City, Colorado. The two brothers opened the Harris Bros.
