It is said that Congregation Emanuel in Denver, Colorado was founded at the bris or circumcision ceremony of Milton Anfenger, the eldest son of Louis and Louise Anfenger. Milton Anfenger became a successful attorney and leader in Denver. He was a lifetime board member of National Jewish Hospital and wrote a book about its early history.
