Biography

Mortiz Bernstein was born in Koenigsburg, Prussia in 1866 and died in Denver, Colorado in 1918. He came to Walsenburg, Colorado in about 1885 and after working as an empoyee, he bought the store. His wife was Theresa Altschul Bernstein and their daughter was Eva Bernstein Stark.
