Biography

Azriel "Azie" Stein was the husband of Irene Miller Stein and operated the Pencol Drug Store. He was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on April 22, 1896 and died in Denver, Colorado in October 1976. He founded the popular drug store and operated it for decades. He was both a capable pharmacist and successful businessman. His wife, Irene Miller Stein, was a noted Denver artist and daughter of pioneer Colorado cattle dealer Robert Lazar Miller, who immigrated to Colorado from Lithuania in 1881.
