This folder is the contents of a binder labeled ''Figures''. Feldman used this notebook to record his research and opinions on major figures and how they related to the idea of myth. Each section on an individual figure included a section that described ''his position in a nutshell,'' a primary bibliography of the individual's works regarding myth, a secondary bibliography that also covered myth, critiques by others, and questions that Feldman had.

This folder contains Burton Feldman's research on Émile Durkheim. This research was not included in the final draft of the book ''The Rise of Modern Mythology: 1680 - 1860.'' The research may have been considered for the book when the scope of the project was larger, or it may have been collected to be used in a potential sequel.
