Scotish ballerina and actress; born17 January, 1926 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland – died 31 January 2006 in Oxford, England; in 1939 she joined the Sadler's Wells Ballet School; she made her debut with the International Ballet in 1941 before moving on to Sadler's Wells in 1942; in 1953 she retired from dance but continued to perform as an actress
