Biography

Betty Carey served as president of the University of Denver (DU) Women’s Library Association in 1972-1975. She died in mid-June 2017 in the Colorado Springs area, and would have been 92 years old in July. Betty’s husband Julius and son Grant both attended the University of Denver. She made many contributions to what used to be known as Penrose Library, and her legacy includes the Library Association endowment which she initiated.

This series contains the contents of nineteen (19) boxes, six (6) ziploc bags, and fifteen (15) binders all full of recipes and recipe cards created and/or collected by Betty Carey. Some of the recipe cards are handwritten while others are "handcrafted" meaning they are an index card upon which Betty Carey has stapled copies of recipes of her choosing.
