Biography

Denver resident, buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. Married Samuel Eisen Jr in 1921 officiated by Rabbi Kauvar. Leah Eisen (1900-1987, SSI) was active in the Denver Jewish community, and was known for her commitment to family and philanthropy. She founded the Diversional and Recreational program of the Beth Israel Hospital with Naomi Sheftel in 1955, was named 1959 Colorado Mother of the Year, and became president of the Colorado Hospital Auxiliary in 1963 and was involved in the National Council of Jewish Women Denver Chapter.. Her mother, Rose Silverberg, was one of the founders of Beth Israel.
