A linear ink drawing of a skier flying through the air on skis holding an edelweiss flower in his mouth with arms outstretched, rendered in a style reminiscent of cartoonist Al Hirschfeld, together with written notes by the artist about ideas for a “ski cartoon”.

An original cover design together with the completed cover depicting a wooden sign in a snowy landscape reading “Danger Avalanche.” An upwards adjustment was made to account for the highly finished rendering of this work, its use as a cover of Ski Magazine, and the presence of the magazine itself.

Two sheets of paper affixed together to create the logo design of mountains and icy letters reading “BLIZZARD” for the Blizzard newspaper, which was the 10th Mountain Division’s newspaper. This design appears in newspapers published in the 1940s although this particular work has a handwritten copyright notation for 1964.
