Biography
The Interreligious Task Force for Soviet Jews was founded in 1972 to press the Soviet Union to let Jews emigrate without restrictions. Sister Anne Gillen, a human rights activist, worked as the executive director of the Task Force from 1972 until 1987. She brought the plight of Jews trapped in the Soviet Union to the attention of the Christian world.
