An American composer and conductor, known primarily for American military and patriotic marches.

Jose Iturbi (11-28-1895 to6-28-1980) Spanish conductor, pianist, and harpsichordist who appeared in several films.

Leonard de Paur (11-1/-1914 to 11-7-1998) Composer, choral director and arts administrator; also entertained troops during WW2 and associate director of the Lincoln Center Intl Choral Festival.

Leopold Stokowski (4-18-1882 to 9-13-1977) Conductor with a long association with the Philadelphia Orchestra; formed All-American Youth Orchestra.

Pioneer impresario Arthur M. Oberfelder came to Denver in 1913 and by 1917 had started his own concert management company. He started the Concert Under the Stars at Red Rocks and was responsible for bringing many entertainment groups to Denver. Collection contains invitations, programs, news clippings, portraits, certificates, photographs, scrapbooks, and autograph books related to the Oberfelder family and the Oberfelder Concert series from 1924 through 1978.

Ossip Gabrilowitsch (1878-1936) Russian-born American pianist, conductor, and composer. Married to Mark Twain's daughter Clara.

Philip Gordon (1894-1983) American concert pianist, composer, and conductor.

Pierre Monteux (4-4-1875 to 7-1-1964) French-born American conductor and violinist.

Robert Shaw (4-30-1916 to 1-25-1999) Conductor most famous for his Chorale; played with Cleveland Orchestra and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
