Weinstein, Rowena Akers, 1911-2000
Biography
Rowena Mae Akers Weinstein was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1911. Her father was a chemical engineer and the family lived in Oklahoma and Texas before moving to Denver in the 1920s. Rowena graduated from DU in 1933 with a sociology degree and was a scholar in residence in social work during 1932-1933. Samuel Weinstein and Rowena Mae Akers were married in 1935 and became the parents of five children: Loren, David, Robert, Joy, and Steven. Rowena Mae Weinstein spent her career as a social worker for the City and County of Denver.

Box contains a maroon dress with black netting, heavy black beading, and wide decorative lace.
Box 5, between 1927 and 1929
Box contains a mute beige/grey flapper dress. The dress is very fragile. The box also contains a gold sash for a dress and remnants of an undergarment.
Box 7
Box contains a coral quilted bed jacket, a small pink bed hat, and embroidered baby clothes. The baby clothes belonged to Joy Weinstein.
