Biography

Kenneth R. Gottesfeld, M.D. was a pioneer in the use of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynacology. He was born in Denver, Colorado August 21, 1938. His father was an Obstetrician-Gynecologist and one of the founders of Rose Hospital. Ken's mother died of pneumonia and his father later married Marion Gottesfeld (trustee of the University of Denver and founder of the Women's Library Association). Kenneth Gottesfeld married Joan Sollfrey in October, 1960, while still a medical student. The couple had two daughters and a son. Kenneth Gottesfeld died in a skiing accident on February, 1984. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.
