Biography
Leopold H. Guldman was an early Jewish businessman in Colorado. After opening Golden Eagle Dry Goods stores in Leadville and Cripple Creek, he moved to Denver in 1879 and opened the third and most successful Golden Eagle store. He was one of the founders of Beth Israel Hospital, Temple Emanuel, and National Jewish Hospital. He also founded the Guldman Community Center in 1934 on West Colfax in Denver, which later became part of the Denver Jewish Community Center. He was born December 18, 1852 and died in Denver in 1936.
