Charles H. (Chuck) Haines (1914-1988) moved to the University Park area of Denver, Colorado with his parents when he was four years old, taking up residence in the former home of Herbert Alonzo Howe, a professor of astronomy and a dean at the University of Denver. Dorothy F. Haines moved to the neighborhood after marrying Charles Haines. Both of their mothers attended the University of Denver, where they were sorority sisters. Charles Haines was a member of Boy Scout Troop 5, Denver, Colorado, from 1925 to 1932 or 1933. Their children and grandchildren attended school in the neighborhood.
