Biography

Kathleen M. Babcock was born May 29, 1903 in a home at the corner of E. Iliff Ave. and S. Cook St. in the University Park area of Denver, Colo. Her parents were custodians at the University Park Elementary School, and they also lived in an apartment in the school. She attended the University Park Elementary School, South High School, and later graduated from a business college. Babcock had two half-brothers who attended Denver University Preparatory School. Babcock worked for Denver Public Schools (DPS) for 44 years, including 31 years at Grant Junior High School.
