Biography
John C. Livingston was born February 24, 1935 in New Haven, Connecticut. Married to Nancy and father of Julie. Died October 25, 1999. __Graduated from Harvard College in 1956. Received a master's and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. Began teaching at the University of Denver in 1963. Served as chairman of the history department at DU from 1979-1983 and 1993-1999. Founding member of the Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society and the Ira M. Beck Archives. Co-founder of the Chicano-Jewish dialogues. Chairman of the Academic Council of the American Jewish Historical Society. Member of the Educational Task Force of the Allied Jewish Federation.
