Biography
Marie [Maria] Lilli Margarete Bätge, b. Tallinn, m. Herr Steinberg, had one daughter, Karin M. Steinberg; then m. Dr. Max Israel Löwenstein (later Max Israel Loewenstein) in 1925; their son Ernst Heinrich Löwenstein (later Henry Lowenstein) b. Sketchbook, 1959 July
One Winsor Spiral Sketchbook, size 6 x 9, filled with pencil sketches of people, buildings, and street scenes. The last page has an itinerary of Maria's travel from July 16, 59-July 27, 59. Stamped "Plankenhorn Stationary Co. Williamsport 2, PA" with "25" written in top left corner of front cover; presumably it was priced at 25 cents.
Sketchbook, 1970 August
Middlesex sketch book with "Trip to S. W. Colorado 1970" written in pencil across top of cover. Lower right hand corner has a Target price tag for 35 cents. The back of the sketch book has 17 pages of journal entries from the trip dated August 15-30. Book filled with pencil and marker sketches of people, buildings, landscapes and still-life’s.
