Marie [Maria] Lilli Margarete Bätge, b. Tallinn, m. Herr Steinberg, had one daughter, Karin M. Steinberg; then m. Dr. Max Israel Löwenstein (later Max Israel Loewenstein) in 1925; their son Ernst Heinrich Löwenstein (later Henry Lowenstein) b. One typed letter on International Committee of the Red Cross Letterhead to Mademoiselle (Henry's mother) providing an update on Henry. The letterhead is in French and type is in French. Letter states that Henry is in good health and working on Church Farm in Whipsnade.

Report to the Berlin police on April 5, 1934 upon moving into a new apartment. The form is in German and lists the family members names, birth dates, religeon. Has five stamps from the police department.

Second Clothing Ration Card, between 1940-1945
Clothing ration card issued to Marie Loewenstein. The front cover is filled out by hand with Marie's name and address. The rest of the covers explains the legalities of the ration book, the assessment for substances, and the value of the goods. The inside of the card lists types of clothing and what they are worth. Around the edge are ration tabs some with Roman numerals and some with valid from dates. Most of these tabs are missing.

Charcoal self portrait of Maria Lowenstein dated 1942. Her hair is almost chin length with a slight curl and parted down the center. Her features are sharp. The portrait goes down to the top of shoulders and shirt collar.
