Loewenstein, Maria (Marie Lilli Margarete), 1894-1982

File contains exhibit planning notes relating to timeline and tasks, images of paintings, and information on paintings, such as title, dimension, medium and price, for the "Honoring the life and art of Maria Lowenstein" at the Niza Knoll Gallery. An unsigned copy of the exhibit and consignment agreement and the rules and regulations of the gallery as well as printed cards and fliers for the exhibit and a gallery business card are included.

Pencil sketch on tracing paper of a man running from a bull in a pasture. Two men on the outside of the fence, one smoking a pipe, are looking on and conversing. Quotation say "One potatoe to a Bottle of whiskey he doesn't make it." Potato is spelled with an "e" on the end.

One copy of "Paintings by Maria Lowenstein" put together by Henry Lowenstein and Bob Zimmer. Book contains images of Maria Lowenstein's artwork and titles for works. A very brief resume for Maria Lowenstein is included in the beginning of the book.

Contains slides of Maria's paintings, the majority of which were printed in 1978.

Rocky Mountain PBS presented "The Life and Artwork of Maria Lowenstein" on the television show Arts District. The segment also included set designs of Henry Lowenstein. There was also an exhibit at Niza Knoll Gallery and another exhibit at the University of Denver. The folder contains correspondence and a biographical sketch. There is also a DVD of the Arts District program segment.

Charcoal self portrait of Maria Lowenstein dated 1942. Her hair is almost chin length with a slight curl and parted down the center. Her features are sharp. The portrait goes down to the top of shoulders and shirt collar.
