Abstract

Depiction of Ganesha realized in the Thangka style of painting from the Thangde Gatsal Collection on Thangka Buddhist Art. This is a detailed view of the deity, depicted with the traditional head of an elephant. Ganesha holds a shell, wears a crown, and stands upon the back of a small creature. Ganesha is depicted with gold skin, with a black background with gold details. The dais that Ganesha stands upon is surrounded by red and black flames.
