Biographical / Historical
Beth Israel Hospital and Home Society was founded by Bella Mintz in 1919 to create a home for displaced Jewish senior citizens. Mrs. I. Rude was its first president. All groups belonging to the Denver Jewish community contributed funds for Beth Israel and provided leadership for the institution. In 1986, Beth Israel Foundation pledged its assets to Shalom Park, and Beth Israel at Shalom Park nursing home opened in 1992.

Scope and Contents
Series 4 consists of recorded oral histories by residents of Beth Israel Home. The interviewees reflect on their experiences as either Jewish immigrants or children of immigrants to America.
