Abstract
Copy of typed letter from C.D Spivak in Denver, Colorado, to Mrs. Betty Katzman and Mrs. Mary Newman in Hartford, Connecticut, stating that the son of a Rabbi afflicted by tuberculosis should come to Colorado as soon as possible and that they will try to admit him to the Sanitorium as soon as a vacancy occurs. Letter states that he cannot be admitted immediately upon arrival, as at present they have no vacancies but they are very anxious to please their friends in Connecticut, so he assures them that the Admission and Dismission Committe will do its best to have Raphael Hoffenberg admitted as soon as possible. Dr. Spivak requests that Mr. Hoffenberg call him upon his arrival in Denver and file his application with them. He also states that he will examine him and see to it that he finds a boarding house at a reasonable rate where he will remain until a vacancy occurs, which he hopes will be soon after his arrival. Letter has a P.S. which states that the cost of board will be from $6.00 to $8.00 per week, according to which room he occupies and requests that in the future, whenever they write to him about a patient, that they include their name, so that they will be able to refer to the letter in the future. Letter is unsigned but "Secretary" is typed at the bottom.
