Letter from Mrs. Betty Katzman and Mrs. Mary Newman to Dr. C.D. Spivak, 1908 July 3
Handwritten three-page letter from Mrs. Betty Katzman and Mrs. Mary Newman in Hartford, Connecticut, to Dr. C.D. Spivak in Denver, Colorado, stating that they have a case of consumption which they would like to get his aid with, which if given would help them and the patient immensely. Letter states that the son of one of their worthy Rabbis has been stricken with consumption for the last four months and is now in the hospital in Rochester, N.Y. They state that the father of the patient is their Rabbi in Hartford who has aided them very much in their work and has now turned to them for help. They now turn to Dr. Spivak, whom they know to have it in his power to help them and request that Raphael Hoffenberg be given a tent in Denver and taken care of. Letter states hope that Dr. Spivak will not refuse this one and answer them at once. Letter is signed Mrs. Betty Katzman and Mrs. Mary Newman.
