Letter from C.D. Spivak to Harold S. Bloomberg, 1908 January 11
Typed two-page letter from Dr. C.D. Spivak to Harold S. Bloomberg and dated Jan. 11, 1908. Letter contains typed information and a typed bill for burial expenses. Says, a bill was sent to Leon Schwartzman's father, but nothing has been sent back, $15.40 was applied to burial expenses, as this was found on the deceased. Wishes the family of the deceased will make an effort to pay for the burial expenses and deceased will not be known as a pauper. Hopes the widow will pay for it, as Leon Schwartzman told Dr. Spivak, while the deceased was living, that he owned a business. Requests, Mr. Bloomberg to help them pay the undertaker and other expenses associated with the burial. Letter has been fixed with a pencil over some of the typing so words are legible. Second page of letter, the bill, states: To the grave $25.00, digging 4.00, undertaker 13.50, shroud 3.00, washing 2.50, total $48.00. Letter is not signed, but "Secretary" is typed at the bottom.
