Julia Claussen, 1920
Abstract
Julia Claussen (1879-1941) was educated at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in Stockholm; she also studied at the Royal Academy in Berlin. She made her debut in La favorita in Stockholm on January 19, 1903, and remained with the Royal Swedish Opera for nine seasons. She sang at Covent Garden and in Paris, and appeared in Chicago in 1913. She made her Metropolitan Opera debut, as Delilah, on November 23, 1917.
