Letter to Dr. Spivak from H. Shapiro, 1909 February 09
Handwritten letter on three pages to "Dr. C. D Spivak...JCRS. Den Colo" from H. Shapiro on letterhead that states, "NEW YORK LADIES' AUXILIARY OF THE JEWISH CONSUMPTIVE RELIEF SOCIETY..." dated "Feb. 9- 1909" [sic]. The letter asks about "a 'Mr Leon[,]' who was to go to Den. and who also had a letter of introduction," but has yet to be invited to the JCRS Sanatorium. The letter also addresses concerns of H. Shapiro about Denver consumptives' "dying and starving in the streets," also a "rumor...that another patient whom we sent died in the streets" stating "that[,] our directors were in a state of uproar" because of the state of affairs [sic]. Lastly, H. Shapiro asks for Spivak's response "at once regarding these two cases" [sic]. The letter is signed [illegible] Shapiro.
