Letter from M.A. Saly to Dr. C.D. Spivak, 1908 October 28
Handwritten two-page letter in ink on Beth Medrash Hagadol Cemetary Association, Mount Nebo Cemetary letterhead from M.A. Saly in Denver, Colorado, to Dr. C.D. Spivak in Denver, Colorado, stating that about 18 months ago they buried a man from Toronto, Canada, of whom had something like $55.00 in his possession, and also carried $1000.00 insurance, which Spivak expected to receive. This amount has never been settled and he wish Spivak would turn over to him the amount covering the funeral expenses. Mr. Barney [Barnet] Jacobs', who died Aug. 22, account is also open, though his wife at the time of death telegraphed to bury here at her expense. Saly states that they have heard no more of it. The Ladies Shroud Giving Society requests [through] him, that he send him all the money he has on hand left by deceased patient whose funeral expenses have not been settled, as they think this is due them long as they are willing to pay charity expenses. But where money is left, they feel entitled to it. Letter states that the same request was made several weeks ago, but up to date have not received any. Letter is signed M.A. Saly.
