Letter from C.D Spivak to Sophia Wasserstein, 1909 January 26
Typed letter from C.D Spivak in Denver, Colorado to Sophie [in letter misspelled "Sophia"] Wasserstein in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania stating a copy of the bill from the United Hebrew Cemetery Association for the burial of Simon Wasserstein has been included with the letter, asks Sophie to honor the bill as soon as possible. Letter informs that the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society found a gold plated watch and chain and $2.26 in the possession of Simon Wasserstein upon his death, and $1.50 of that amount was used to pay for a copy of the death certificate. Letter informs that the copy of the death certificate was sent to Mr. Max Goldman, secretary of the Hebrew Literature Society, sent on January 23, 1909. Letter asks Sophie Wasserstein what should be down with the remaining balance of 76 cents. Letter is unsigned but "Secretary" is typed at the bottom. On the back of form at the bottom, handwritten in pencil upside down is the math equation 2.26 minus 1.50 equals .76.
