Biographical / Historical
Howard Sayette grew up in Los Angeles and starts his ballet training there. He danced in Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1956 to 1960 and was a soloist at the Metropolitan Opera Ballet from 1960-1972. Howard became ballet master at Oakland Ballet in 1978 and served in the role for 20 years. There, he dedicated his time to the revival of many Diaghilev-era ballets.
