Max and Miriam Goldberg, circa 1998-2017
The son of Charles (Yechiel) and Anna Goldberg, immigrants to Denver from Brest-Litovsk, Russia, Max Goldberg began his career in media as a newsboy at age seven. Later he reported on sports for the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News.At age 20, he made his radio debut with a sports broadcast and later had a television career as well..Throughout his career he publicized the accomplishments of blacks, hispanics, and women. He started an advertising agency and developed an interest in poltics, helping to defne the field of media consultant. He was instrumental in raising funds for the new Rose Hospital and was a loyal supporter of Israel.. As publisher of the Intermountain Jewish News, beginning in 1943 and continuing until his death in 1972, Goldberg found his greatest passion and legacy.
