Biographical / Historical
Steve Siefert was the Executive Director of the Newman Center for the Performing Arts from 2003 to 2016. Steve earned a BA in History from Yale, a JD from Stanford Law School, and practiced commercial bankruptcy and corporate workout law for 14 years with Fairfield and Woods, serving two terms as Managing Director. Prior to his appointment at the Newman Center, Steve was a Board Member of the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation, and served Opera Colorado as Executive Director and Board Chairman. Steve consulted for the City of Denver on the renovation of the Historic Auditorium Theatre (now the Ellie Caulkins Opera House) as well as serving on the Boards of the Denver Foundation and Western Arts Alliance. He also served on Commissions and task forces appointed by Colorado Council on the Arts, SCFD, and WAA.
