Abstract

Jeanne Christie: Born in Madison, Wisconsin – approx. 1945. In the mid-late eighties was living in Milford, Connecticut. “In the winter of 1967, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Art Education, Jeanne joined the American Red Cross, SRAO Program” (p.1). “Jeanne spent 5 months at the Army Subcommand in Nha Trang. Then she was assigned to the First Marine Division in Danag and later to the 35th Tactical Fighter Wing in Phan Rang” (p.1) of oral history in Kathryn Marshall’s book. From the Collection:

The Circle of Sisters/Circle of Friends collection includes personal papers, photographs, memorabilia, books, newspaper clippings, audio and video tapes, slides, letters, scrapbooks and oral interviews. The collection illustrates women's service during the war in Southeast Asia as well as the ''coming home'' experience and shows their continued service through the present day. The current strengths of the collection are a section devoted to biographical material on each of the civilian women who died in Vietnam, personal films and videos, out-of-print books about women's roles during the war, information about Operation Babylift, and various theses and dissertations.
